With the concepts put forth in the lecture this week fresh in mind, I realize how important it is to be observant of the potential angles that could arise when covering a story. I can see that it is vital to capture the reader’s attention by emphasizing particular themes which the reader can recognize and perhaps even relate. With regards to my story (Piha floods), a prospective angle that I wish to cover is the idea of regular citizens taking matters into their own hands in order to mitigate damages in their community. As far as the development of the story, I have arranged interviews with two locals who wish to share their experience and their planned actions for the future.
